PSD supports Dan Nica for the helm of the Interior Ministry, the premier proposed Blaga as interim
Prime-minister Emil Boc sent at the presidency the recall query of the Interior Minister Dan Nica and proposed Vasile Blaga as interim, but mentioned the Social-Democrat Party (PSD) has the obligation and responsibility to name someone for the helm of the Interior Ministry (MAI).
Boc reshuffled Nica Monday morning and asked PSD to make a new proposal for the helm of MAI by 1 p.m. on Tuesday. The premier reminded he proposed Blaga as interim as he was Interior Minister few years ago.
The president of PSD, Mircea Geoana, said he told Boc Tuesday morning that the social-democrats ministers will leave the government if Nica is reshuffled. Geoana also wrote a letter to President Traian Basescu and told him he has the obligation to stop this political crisis in time.
Geoana deems Basescu is responsible for tripping this crisis as he
proposed Boc to head the government and vouched for him as premier.
Basescu invited Boc and Geoana to discuss about the current situation
in the ruling coalition, but the latter said Nica's reshuffle is not a
subject to be tackled.
