Chief of Orange Romania leaves boat on personal reasons
The chief executive officer of telecom company Orange Romania, Richard Moat, announced the resignation from the top spot owing to personal motives; he will temporarily be replaced by the commercial director, Thierry Millet.
Moat took the post in September 2004 and turned Orange into one of the best branches of mother company France Telecom. Millet became the commercial director in October 2005 and has a 20-year experience with the company.
Orange has more than 10 million clients in Romania. Revenues stood at 1.31 billion euros at the end 2008.
The company, in tight competition with Vodafone Romania, the local arm of the world's biggest mobile-phone company by sales, said it spent more than 1.6 billion euros beginning with 1997 in network expansion.
