New swine flu case in Romania comes from Turkey, count reaches 56

Romania's Cantacuzino Institute confirmed a new case of infection with the A/H1N1 virus in a 19-year-old woman from the central city of Sibiu who had returned from Turkey on July 13, the Health Ministry announced.

This is the first case confirmed in a person who came from Turkey.

The young woman is under medical surveillance and is being treated with antivirals, but she is in a good state of health.

The Romanian authorities have opened an investigation to find the persons she had come into contact with. 

Out of the total 56 infections confirmed in Romania, only nine patients are still hospitalized. 

The first case in our country was identified on May 23, in a person who had returned from the U.S.
