About two thirds of Romanians are to give up going on vacation if the economic crisis reduced their incomes, while half would renounce luxury goods, a study carried out by Mednet and Media Xprimm shows.

Going out, buying clothing, and making investments are next on Romanians’give-up list, while food items are the last things they would let go of, the study which analyzed the consumption during the crisis showed.

More than 50 percent of Romanians are to buy the same products, but in smaller quantities if their salaries are cut, while 31.4 percent of those polled say they will not change their consumer behavior.

However, if they earn less money, the people interviewed from outside the capital would purchase less luxury objects, according to 59.1 percent of those polled, while the figure is smaller in Bucharest, the study showed.

The study was carried out from January 28 to February 10 and 812 people from the largest cities and the capital were interviewed.
