Romania`s stock market steps back in the red at debut

The Bucharest Stock Exchange (BSE) started session down, with the index of the five financial companies known as SIF seeing the highest decrease, of 1.6 percent, as declines showed up on the Asian and the European bourses too.

The BET index showing the evolution of the ten best companies on the market slipped 0.51 percent to 3,990.17 and the BET-C composite index assessing all listed shares minus financial companies eased 0.39 percent to 2,413.53.

The BET-FI index of the five SIFs fell 1.58 percent to 20,048.34 and the ROTX index for trading blue-chips in Vienna decreased 0.79 percent to 8,349.67. 

The BET-XT index of the 25 most liquid companies lost 0.84 percent to 386.78 and the BET-NG index showing the evolution of the power market dipped 0.47 percent to 535.19. 

The U.S. bourses closed the previous session in the green, despite the weak statistics on the American real estate market. The Dow Jones industrial index stepped up 0.90 percent to 9,217.94 and the Nasdaq index rose 1.30 percent to 1,955.92. Standard&Poor's 500 index added 1.01 percent to 989.67. 

Shares of SIF Oltenia (SIF5) continued to be the most traded on the market following deals of 588,821 lei and plunged 1.85 percent to 1.06 lei. SIF Moldova (SIF2) depreciated 1.65 percent to 0.8950 lei. 

Romania's second bank by assets BRD SocGen (BRD) plummeted 0.89 percent to 11.10 lei, while the fifth lender by assets Banca Transilvania (TLV) lowered 0.75 percent to 1.33 lei. 

Oil refinery Rompetrol Rafinare (RRC) inched 0.20 percent to 0.0497 lei and electronics retailer Flamingo (FLA) hiked 2.84 percent to 0.0290 lei.
