Romania`s Parliament rejects the Croitoru government with 250 votes against and 189 votes for
The designated prime-minister Lucian Croitoru failed to receive the Parliament\'s approval for the government\'s helm, following 250 votes against and 189 favorable.
As many as 458 parliamentary took part at the session, but only 440 of them chose to vote. One of the votes was canceled.
After the announcement, Croitoru said he takes every job seriously and that he completed this one, but mentioned his mission ended.
“I did my best to give the country a government,” said Croitoru, who deems he presented the best government formula.
President Traian Basescu nominated Lucian Croitoru for the prime-minister seat on October 15, two days after the government led by Emil Boc was dismissed following a no-confidence vote.
However, the National-Liberal Party (PNL), the Social-Democrat Party (PSD), the Hungarian minority party (UDMR), the Conservative Party (PC) and the minorities proposed Sibiu mayor Klaus Johannis for the premier position. The five parties account for about 65 percent of the parliamentary.
Still, Romania\'s president said on October 16 he will nominate another prime-minister if Lucian Croitoru does not receive the Parliament\'s vote, a political player from the party with the largest number of parliamentary, the Democrat-Liberal Party (PDL).
