Car producer Peugeot estimates to sell 55 percent less cars in Romania this year versus 2008
Trust Motors, the importer of Peugeot in Romania, targets to sell 5,800 vehicles this year, a 55 percent decrease versus last year, of which 2,300 units in the last four months, according to the company's marketing director, Radu Cristian.
The auto market will stand near 140,000 units this year, 55 percent down versus 2008, the official estimates.
Trust Motors also targets to reach a 4.1 percent market share for 2009.
According to data of the Association of Car Producers and Importers in Romania (APIA), Peugeot sold 3,488 vehicles in the first eight months.
The official mentioned dealers had to sell some cars with 10-15 percent below the production price, pushed by last year's supply.
